Hello,

Currently my PC is using a 3060 12 gb with an amd ryzen 7 5800xt. Im thinking about upgrading to a 5060 8 gb but I'm concerned the vram limitation of the 5060 might hinder my game performance.

I mapped the vram usage of the majority of games I play and most are around the 3-6 gb vram usage range. The only game I have concern about is Rust which was using between 7.8-8.3 vram.

Now I am no mathematician but obviously the vram usage of rust exceeds 8 gb. Wouldn't that drastically impact performance for Rust on the 5060 versus my 3060 12 gb?

Or is the 5060 just such a newer card that it'll optimize performance and be more efficient than my 3060 that maybe the 8.3gb of vram usage with my 3060 might be under 8gb vram usage for a 5060?

Any help would be appreciated. I am not experienced with these gpu cards.

Side note: I also have an aorus b450 motherboard. I saw online that the motherboard would run the 5060 at PCLe 3.0 versus 4.0/5.0 which the 5060 runs on. Google said I'd lose maybe 5% of performance. I probably should get a new motherboard then too right? I can replace parts just fine on PCs. I just don't know jack about the details of performance. Thank you!
