Help with new Steam Controller for Xbox Game Pass?
Hey everyone, I’m just gonna ask this here because I feel this is kind of a niche thing but unfortunately I very recently switched to PC and a majority of my games are on Xbox Game Pass/“Play Anywhere”.
tldr: I’d love some help understanding how SISR works and if anyone has found reliable success with it and can help.
Anyone who has tried Steam input or launching Xbox non-Steam games will know that Steam and Xbox do not play well together…. this is apparently because Microsoft considers their games a “Universal Windows Program” which makes things wonky. You can sometimes still add them as a non-Steam game, but it is hit or miss on steam input. There are two programs I intend to use to solve this issue:
- UWPHook: Adds Game Pass games to Steam and handles some of the weirdness
- SISR: Allows Steam Input on Game Pass games.
I have the following questions related to SISR as a viable solve.
- Does it emulate an Xbox controller, meaning there’s no joystick-to-mouse options?
- Gyro compatible? I’ve heard that’s not working yet.
- Can it be set to “activate” for certain games and programs but not others or is it system wide all or nothing?
Idk I guess my real main question is, how seamless is it? Like, will I notice it’s there and have quirks or is it kindaaaa magic?
I think I’m gonna have to use it for my Xbox games that I got before I got my pc.
