I've not done much painting lately, have finished probably only one or two. This is one of them. Acrylic isn't my first choice of medium, but I've been a sucker for the shiny paints...all that metallic stuff was too difficult to resist a few years ago and I've still got quite a few tubes of it. The tree here is real; I had already done a drawing of it and so transferred the sketch to a canvas. I wanted to try and create a shadowy silver light, using the silver and stainless steel colours along with some blues. I find it tricky to get acrylic to look 'natural', so tend to go for a more fanciful image.
