Failed to recharge Google Play balance via Google Pay using HDFC Bank UPI ID. Error message reads: "Contact bank with error code [YC].”
At the same time, I was able to recharge successfully using my IOB Bank UPI ID. I also checked to make sure that I was able to make other payments with my HDFC Bank UPI ID, and yes, I could. I recharged Vi Prepaid phone number right after and it worked, I could send money to my friends as well without issues.
Does anybody have any idea why this might happen? I can’t exactly test other scenarios where my UPI ID might fail without knowing the underlying cause for the same.
I tried calling 18001600, but can’t seem to find an option to get in touch with a dedicated customer support agent.
