Reprimanded for using PPTO ?

I used PPTO to miss a shift on Mother's Day. The next day, about 2 hours into my shift, my TL asked me to come into an office to talk about something. There was another unrelated TL there too and they asked me why I missed Mother's Day and basically lectured me about missing "blackout" dates and making sure we are coming in on our scheduled shifts, and as a Seasonal TA we should be coming in during the holidays to make things run smoothly. They also added that my call-in resulted in "reduced coverage and impacted business needs for the day". This was also documented on my Workday account. They said I was not in trouble nor was I being coached, but why pull me into an office and document this? What's the point of PPTO if I get "feedback" when I use it? I plan to use my PPTO for holidays, can I get in trouble for this? Any advice is appreciated.
