Plasma in 11th: what are the units to look for and how should we use them?

Hello!

With the advent of 11th being around the corner and us getting a more specific detachment granting us bonuses to plasma (1+ or 2+ to S and an increase to range), i was wondering:

What are the big units to be on the lookout for and how can they best be used assuming not much else is changing mechanically from what we've seen (like heavy letting you move 3 inches and plasma weapons maybe relying more on rolling (pistol from the data card looked like it was going on d3 attacks)).

Currently, i feel we may see even more impulsors rocking the firing deck 6 with hell blasters.

I may also see repulsor executioners showing up to drop off some icc and azrael off to school and making prominent use of its plasma cannon.

What about you all? What units, transports, and etc do you see getting more use and in what way would you use them?

Maul never got better

Throwing my 2 cents into the Maul wasn't nerfed debate (He was, in as much as a per-established injury (2 if you count both him being a cyborg as well as the damages to his current legs)), I would like to point something out.

Maul's abilities were preserved in amber for over 10 years from when he was a young buck to now and just because he's more angry doesn't necessarily mean he's more locked in. I would argue the only one actually fully locked in that fight was Daki, as he's the only one who landed a hit on Vader.

Potential is a fun word and he likely had a lot of it because he was in his 20's when he fell down a bottomless pit and it's fair to point out that he almost certainly would have become a tour de force had that not happened. But it didn't.

To back up this claim, I will point out that Maul didn't mature over 10 years. His understanding of the dark side didn't fester. He didn't face greater enemies and challenge himself, outside of Sidious. The man was in his early mid 20's when he was able to kill a fairly aclaimed, if side eyed, jedi master and lost via sucker punch by Obi Wan who used his most famous force power of "locking in at will".

Fast forward to his duel with Ahsoka and, while there are extenuating circumstances during their fight, he was still operating off of both a career limiting injury and only recently having the opportunity to get better. And I feel it is incredibly fair to say that Ahsoka was a better fighter than Obi Wan when he fought Maul and that Maul's only real advantage over current day Obi Wan was his ability to get into his head and make himself out to be the high school bully that psychs him out.

Maul is, unfortunately, the high school bully who had a career limiting injury and never got better or stronger past that.

Maul, given his goals and success can only be described as a hamster in a wheel, is as capable as he should be. The best thing he can do with the dark side of the force is help someone else in their villain arc at this point.

New to this Subreddit: Where y'all finding that chapter template?

I've been trying to track down where I could more effectively use this thing to better work on my homebrew chapter but I can't seem to track down the resource for it or a better source that gives me a less pixely image that's easier to edit, or the helmet variants for that matter.

Would appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance

With how often Star Wars has difficulty painting flawed Jedi in a way that makes people like them, I appreciate how Master Daki is treated with a degree of respect while also going "no, this isn't the world you came up in".

In a galaxy where the jedi were molded to fit a landscape where the battlefield was largely political and they had to dust off an ancient playbook to fight the sith, Master Daki is certainly the most understandable. Kind and willing to use his contacts with those in authority while also believing that the system will spit Devon out quickly enough for a simple fruit theft, he opts to not make a splash unnecessarily.

It is unfortunate, but good story telling, then that every turn betrays him. Maul is only half right about aggression being needed to defeat Vader. In truth, to defeat Vader you need to be willing to go all in and either be totally without fear of death in an almost bushido sense.

Unfortunately, Daki was neither. He was kind, wizened to the ways of the old world and was an old lizard dog that could not swing learning new tricks. He was flawed without being taciturn, committed without being dogmatic, and kind without that dog in him.

When the show began a few weeks ago, I had concerns that theyd make him an anti hero or make him too sympathetic and I'm so happy this wasnt the case.

Any point of softness is dedicated to manipulating Devon.

Any point of rage is about the innocents who have been hurt but how his first point if reference was his suffering.

He values loyalty and provided you are good at your job and tow the line he will suffer a little back talk.

He is a man who knows he has suffered and has a vague idea of the cycle of abuse but does not have the self awareness or tools to try something else with Devon and on taking his fight to the empire.

His perspective on the jedi at this time has points but is flawed.

And the bastard fully helped kill Daki to recruit Devon, maintaining he is fully the lesser of two evils.

I can't wait for s2 and I cant wait to see where Devon lands in the future of the franchise.

Title text

edit: ok editing for clarity.

By "in the far future" I mean that maul and Devon set the foundations for a new sith/dark side cult that lasts into the future. I dont actually want Maul to be around post sequel

I have an extra box of sternguards and am debating that since we dont really need a the full 10 for azrael that maybe I should kitbash them into company heroes using some spare icc parts as an art project.

How good are they generally within our army? Do they look better than they are? Am I mistaken about sternguards being best in groups of 5 for azrael?
