So after my surgery( do not take recurring tailbone pains lightly) , been on the lookout for a good gym with a trainer. I used this sub to get some leads, went for trial sessions. Unfortunately most of the places didn’t suit my vibe.
I wanted a space that’s not crowded, noisy and trainers actually focused on form and safety. Given my surgery was near my tailbone; I just couldn’t risk.
Then thanks some AI reccos; found Mixed Movement Fitness. It’s not really a typical gym - they have very few machines and only personal trainer led session. What worked for me
1.) insanely qualified trainers. They train athletes
2.) they don’t even have mirrors in the gym. Coz they want you to be conscious of your form on your own
3.) they took down all my health details and tailored a plan very specific to me - including my surgery recovery
4.) you train barefoot. Can move around freely
Not been an issue for me, but might be for others
1.) it’s a boutique setup. No fancy washrooms/changing rooms.
2.) no sauna etc. but a cold shower back home helps me.
3.) parking is an issue sometimes. Need to park in the next lane and walk.
Happy to help answer any questions. Really want this place to get business it deserves.
