I have a 2016 AWD Highlander with the V6 & 155k miles. Recently I noticed a mild transmission shutter at around 40 MPH when I'm just barely on the gas, maintaining speed. For those who drive manuals, it feels exactly like what happens when your RPMs get too low and the car starts to chug. Has anyone else experienced this? It's almost like the Highlander isn't downshifting when it needs to.
On its own this issue isn't too bad, but it scares me to think about it getting worse and potentially being the first sign of a failing transmission?
My mechanic checked my transmission fluid less than 5,000 miles ago and said it looked excellent.
