Hi, I just signed up for Xfinity at my apartment and received their gateway for self-install.

The Xfinity gateway powers on but keeps blinking orange and is not receiving any signal. I only have one coax outlet in the apartment, and it seems inactive (no working connection through it).

Support is telling me I need a technician visit, but they’re quoting a $100 fee. This seems like a line activation or building wiring issue rather than an install request or customer-caused problem.

Has anyone been able to get this classified as a failed self-install or service activation so the technician fee is waived or credited? I just want to get service working in an already pre-wired apartment.
