For Medicare only- I am not sure when the rule changed but it looks like Insulin for pumps is billed under Part B as Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Insulin for injections is covered under Part D.
I’m having a heck of a time getting my CVS pharmacy to understand they must bill my insulin under Medicare part B as DME and I can’t find a DME company that carries insulin. It’s been 3 months of this and they want to charge me over $700 for a three month supply of insulin since they can’t understand how to bill insulin with a pump.

I’m trying to find out if anyone else has encountered this who is on Medicare and if you have any ideas on how to handle this?
