Hoping you fine folks can help me through this process and help with some questions I have :). I did speak to an AA employee on the phone, but I'm reading some mixed things online so hoping to get some clarity on my situation. Please see below for details/questions:

  • I'm hoping to fly standby on a pretty empty flight that leaves 2 days earlier.
  • The AA agent told me to show up at the airport on the day of the earlier flight and talk to the counter about being added to the standby list. He said it would be free of charge and it'd automatically cancel my flight 2 days later if I'm able to get on the earlier flight. He also offered to put me on the list right now without any sort of penalty, which I agreed to.

So my real question is does this all sound correct to you? Like I said, I read some different information online and am possibly misinterpreting some language. So I'm looking for some confirmation and tips on how best to get on this flight that is departing 2 days earlier than my ticketed departure. Thanks for any help!!

I used to get all the above on ebay all the time, but now I don't see the deals anymore. These deals actually got me to go to the theater WAY more often than without since it's just so expensive to go to the movies now.

Hoping someone has some tips to share! thanks!
