Mouse PI for hire review

I just finished the story of this game and I'll start off by saying I LOVED it and so far I have it as my number 1 contender for indie game of the year.

The review:

As for the game itself it was a really fun time and I was never bored while playing it, the rubber hose animated characters meshed surprisingly well in a 3D environment, the story was really fun to playthrough and the characters were all really charming as well. It deadass felt like they ripped these characters straight from the og black and white cartoons back in the day which i grew up watching thanks to some old discs and tapes my aunt had. Also the cheese puns didn't get old surprisingly enough, there were a lot but not too much to the point where it felt overused.

Top 3 characters (in no particular order)

-Jack

-Tammy

-John

What I would change/add:

Honestly the only I would add is some sort of chapter/mission select after you finish the game's story since there's A LOT of missable collectibles along the way. I did manage to collect all the comics, newspapers and cards since I followed a guide however I somehow managed to miss key clues for the blue Betty and missing magician cases at some point meaning I missed my chance at the platinum and I can't find any guides anywhere that tell you where all the key clues are so I hope someone makes one at some point. Plus I also didn't get enough money to do 30 baseball card matches, even though I triple checked every room and enemy corpse to collect all the money I could it felt like it's impossible to get every achievement in one playthrough because of it (or maybe it is and I'm just bad at collecting money).

Overall I give this game bare minimum an 8/10, at most a 9/10 if they do add a mission select or ng+ in the future. 100% recommend everyone at least try it once.
