Is the Nvidia premium worth it in 2026?

I’ve researched the 9070 XT vs 5070 Ti to a ridiculous extent, and still cannot decide.

My Current PC:
- Ryzen 3600
- RTX 2070 Super
- 16GB RAM

PC use case:
- Mostly gaming (competitive + AAA single player)
- 1440p 144hz currently
- Want to move to 4K OLED eventually
- Some YouTube/content creation (talking head currently)
- Might record gameplay/commentary in future but unsure about streaming for the time being.

Originally I was looking at this deal from nebula: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/950352

I then found this deal which became option one below, as the core components were better and I could snag a better GPU for the build - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/958200

Before nebula decided that they wanted to steal all of my money and launch this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/958442

Now I’m stuck between the BYO GPU deal and the 5070ti deal, the Pros for each are:

  1. - Better balanced build overall
  2. - Better thermals/noise
  3. - Better value
  4. - Slightly weaker supporting components
  5. - But gets DLSS, better RT, NVENC, Nvidia ecosystem etc

Difference is about $170-200 $300-$320 AUD (EDIT: using the BYO GPU option from the 5070ti build, didn’t realise this).

From everything I’ve seen:
- Raster performance is basically tied
- Nvidia wins features/ecosystem
- AMD wins value/build balance

I feel like the AMD build is the more rational choice, but the Nvidia build is the one I’ll not second guess. I’m probably being a bit unreasonable and have some AI induced psychosis from researching these two builds.

If you were in my position, which would you buy?
