Story 1: Today I went to get gas at Costco and all the pumps were busy except one--a front one on the passenger side of my vehicle. I used the middle lane to get to the pump and backed up into the spot. As I got out, the man behind me yelled, "You couldn't have waited 30 seconds?" as he steps into his vehicle. I'm just very confused and stunned as he proceeds to drive past me in the middle lane and slows down so his wife can yell at me from the open window, "You're a bitch!" Then they drive off and I go ahead and get my gas. I did not back up such that he had to reverse to get out of lane. I'm guessing he wanted to pull forward without the *inconvenience* of using the middle lane?

Story 2: A couple weeks ago I was at the Costco gas pumps, rear pump this time. I finished pumping, got in, and was putting my car in drive to leave when the person behind me starts honking angrily while I'm leaving. I don't know if he thought I was taking too long or what. The pump in front of me was totally open and he could have swooped it if he felt that upset about the length of time I took which was mere *seconds*.

Is this just a difference in priorities? Is there unspoken etiquette that is being missed? Either way, I'm pretty sure lashing out at random people is solving nothing.
