Is my wedding formal enough for ‘formal’?

Just want to make sure I am not being unreasonable. Here is a little about my wedding:

-In the midwest, mid June, temps vary between 65-80
-Venue is a sprawling estate, short ceremony outside followed by cocktail hour either on the front patio or inside if it is too hot/raining. Reception indoors.
-ceremony begins at 4, cocktails from 4:30-6, reception 6-10:30.
-passed apps, open bar, and live music for cocktails. Plus we are offering our photographers during cocktail hour to take family photos/couple shots for our guests.
-plated 3 course dinner and live band for the reception. Along with more open bar and good wine table service during the meal.
-no valet
-fully acknowledging and planning that this would be ‘midwest formal’ this area would not assume it was tuxes or dark suits only. Most people would see formal and wear a suit and tie and a long dress. I know people don’t like the ‘garden party formal’ but i think that is what people would wear/assume more than true formal/BTO

Venue is big enough we could do everything if it is too hot or raining outside.

Thoughts?
