I have been a loyal Costco member since 1999. For 27 years, I’ve trusted Costco’s curated services. But now, I’m being terrorized by their partner (ReadyRefresh / Primo Water) over a fake debt, and Costco is doing absolutely nothing to help.
In late 2022, I moved to a different state. Before I left, I returned ALL equipment and paid my final balance in full. I even have photos of the returned equipment as proof.
I recently called ReadyRefresh, and the representative explicitly confirmed that my balance is $0 and was paid off in Oct/Nov 2022. Yet, they still sent a "debt" to a collection agency, threatening my credit score.
I have called Costco Customer Service multiple times, only to be told "it’s not our business, talk to the partner." I even escalated and called Costco Corporate, but they said "there is nothing we can do."
How can Costco promote these services to us based on trust, then turn their backs on a 27-year loyal member when that partner fails this badly? If Costco won't stand behind their members, why should anyone ever trust their "Gold Star" services again?
Has anyone else dealt with this? I need this fixed before it ruins my credit. Any advice on how to get Costco to actually take responsibility?
