I'm so fucking angry. I just found out about our family history, how my parents are only one call away or how you can easily get help from them. But when it’s our turn to ask for help, they have already walked away from us, leaving us empty and helpless. Especially my RELATIVES.
Before, we used to be financially stable so my relatives who were close to us would always come to us first—and my mom would always welcome them and help them. One day, my mom's uncle came back to the Philippines, he's a nice uncle and always donates to charities and schools. He told my mom that he would give us money, and when my relatives found out about that, they secretly badmouthed us to my mom's uncle so they ended up getting the money instead of us. My mom was even confused because he blocked her on Facebook and stopped talking to her.
Years went by and we found out that our relatives won a lottery in America, and that’s when our downfall started too. My mother resigned from her job because it’s not allowed for married couples to work together so we built a business instead but we went bankrupt due to the pandemic. A lot happened over the years, we even got hacked so almost all our money was lost.
When we asked for help, they didn’t even pay us any attention. There was a time when our relatives traveled and we were the only ones not invited. Eventually, there was a big fallout.
It's incredibly frustrating. The anger I feel right now is like I'm about to explode, but I also feel motivated to be successful because I want to rise above, I want to recover everything we lost, and I want to show them who they left in the dark.
It’s funny how the ones who are supposed to be your blood relatives are the ones who will drag you down.
