So a friend of mine asked me if I have been spreading rumors about her liking one of her guy friends (which i really didn't) & proceeded to say that she only told me and another friend. she then goes “I know the other friend wouldn’t do that but I wanted to ask you just in case since one of our mutuals was talking about it.”

I told her I didn’t tell anyone of course, but on my way home after our hangout, i felt a little iffy about what she said. its totally valid and ok to ask me if i said anything but to say “i know the other friend wouldn’t do that” made me kinda upset?? am I overthinking what do yall think?
