Haven’t been on a cruise yet and am looking for some advice. Please note that I am not looking to discuss tipping culture.

I am wondering how people leave an additional tip for their cabin attendant at the end of a cruise. It sounds (from the dozens of YouTube videos I’ve watched) that people have the same cabin attendant during the whole cruise. Is that true? And if so, can you leave a thank you card with a tip in the room on disembarkation day for them? Or should you give it to them directly the night before? Thanks!
