Hi everyone,
I’m a student in South India using a local fiber ISP. I’ve been struggling with game-breaking lag in Fortnite and Valorant (intermittent spikes of 70% packet loss). I have already contacted my ISP and provided them with logs; they are currently "investigating."
I want to make sure I have a solid way to verify their fix so they don't just close my ticket without actually solving the root cause.
The Evidence (Wired Connection):
Local Physical Issue: WinMTR shows 17% loss starting at my second hop (ISP Gateway: 192.168.0.1).
The "London Detour": My tracert to the Middle East gateway shows traffic leaving India at 13ms but hitting London (cogentco.com) at 148ms+ before trying to reach Bahrain. It's taking a massive detour to Europe.

What I'm asking you:
Since the ISP is "checking" it now, what are the best technical ways for me to verify that the problem is 100% resolved when they call me back?
Aside from checking the "ms" in a simple ping, what should I look for in WinMTR or PingPlotter to ensure the routing stays within a Chennai/Mumbai IX and doesn't bounce back to Europe?
Are there specific stress tests I can run to see if that 17% gateway loss (Hop 2) is truly fixed and not just "hidden"?
Any specific "BGP" or "Peering" questions I should ask them to confirm they've changed the path permanently?
I'm using a high-end laptop with a wired Cat6 connection, so I've ruled out home hardware. Thanks for any technical insights!
