b12 serum 213 pg/mL. Can barely function. Any good reason to wait for Dr before starting shots?
If I go to a "spa" and order a shot myself ASAP, will that screw up any important other future tests? My doctor did not order homocysteine or MMA, just serum b12.
I have been able to see test results since Friday but my "care team" has not reviewed them and who knows when they will. I know they are busy. But I am so, so tired of feeling ill and being dismissed - on and off for decades - and I just want to take matters into my own hands.
I do believe eventually my new pcp and gastro will at least attempt to understand why I cannot absorb b12. Ultimately if they recommend shots I would prefer my insurance cover them. But in the meantime I can barely hold myself up, can't think straight, hair fell out, blurry vision, pain, etc and I don't want to wait for the doctors to catch up here unless there's a good reason.
Thank you all for any advice here. Wow I can barely write a sentence.
