I just want to preface this to say that I am not hating on Pilates and that I also enjoy pilates in addition to solidcore. Both have good benefits and share some similarities but the overall workouts are different. It really irks me when people refer to solidcore as pilates. Most of the time when people say it I just ignore it but one of my friends keeps calling me a pilates princess and keeps bringing up that I do pilates and that is what has built my muscle. She has also gone to a solidcore with me and she did enjoy it but then was saying that she was thinking of signing up for a local club pilates since she liked solidcore. I trried to politely explain to her that solidcore is not pilates and that they are two different workouts. If she wants to do pilates then she should but I wanted her to know that it was going to be a different experience as I used to also do club pilates regularly but I decided to switch to solidcore because I just felt like I enjoyed it a little more. When I talked to my friend about it she got really annoyed and acted like she thought I was being pretentious. She has never taken an actual pilates class before and I suggested that she take the free intro class before signing up for a membership to see if she likes it but she said that she has "already done pilates" because she has gone to solidcore with me a few times. Has anyone else had this experience?
