I 25(f) work as an accountant. I know big title; however I am not actually working as an accountant despite doing 6 years of school and completing my CPA. My current job doesn’t give a shit about me and treats me more like an admin assistant; in my most recent performance review I asked about professional growth and development and was essentially told that I am ‘to good at admin to invest in’. And they hired two ‘accountants’ to fill the vacancy (the company has an enormous staff turnover; the longest serving employee besides management or related directly related to management has been there for 4 years) whilst I still am doing data entry. I have submitted for two months mental health leave as the above destroyed me and myself confidence.
Anyways because this two months coming up they have on boarded two new candidates to fill my position; last week my manager pulled me into a room and advised me that I needed to conduct the training on my tasks. I would happily do this; however I don’t think they realise how much time goes into training and due to this training two critical tasks are going to be missed next week and I will get the blame as they are my task. AITAH if I take sick leave next week to avoid being held responsible for missing these critical tasks?
