Hello all, and thank you in advance. On a trip to Japan, I attended a class that explained the crafting of the quality cooking knives and how to appropriately use a whet stone. As part of this, we purchased our own santoku, and they would engrave a name and or date but did advise we keep it short.

Could someone please let me know how this sounds phonetically as well as the specific meanings, if possible? 😅
