Here’s a little something I realized for those of us who faced physical punishment at young ages

I sort of came to this realization recently and thought it might help some of you too. I believe because physical pain was used as discipline for us as children, we’ve sort of been conditioned to feel that it’s the only tantamount punishment for my perceived failings and mistakes.

It’s sort of like how little kids who grow up with parents who yell when they’re angry don’t fully process someone is angry/upset until they’re yelling if that makes sense.

And whether this applies to you or not I want you all to know I love you and you’re beautiful, I’m so proud of you. And for those of us struggling right now please remember that relapse isn’t starting over, it’s about getting a little more space between them each time that’s the healing. ❤️‍🩹
