Today I was playing a pickup game with my usual group and a guy pulls up that’s known for being good, and I had heard his name but never seen him around, so when he asked if there was a dribble limit for king of the court I said “we’ll see how good you are”, because I didn’t know how good he was. Apparently, he took this as a personal attack, as he started shouldering me HARD when I was guarding him, and then said “if you can’t take contact this isn’t for you bro”. I love basketball, but him and my usual group (who didn’t side with me cause I don’t know them like that, I just hoop with them) are always around and they’re incredibly egotistical so now I have nowhere to play, and I’m worried I’ll never get over it and lose my love for the game. The worst part about all this is that the dude shouldering me was better in every way so he didn’t even NEED to shoulder me, he could have just shot in my face and talked smack and that would have been just fine with me.
