I've been out of practice with drawing for a while, but I've been doing some pet portraits. This is my Emmett who passed in December, I miss him every day.
After 33 days of getting attacked several times a day when entering or existing my apartment by Richard (aka Dick), raising the umbrella for Gertie when the sun got too hot, refilling a water bowl for her and feeding them peas daily...my patio goose saga may have come to an end. I've reached out to a local wildlife rehab for guidance, but haven't heard back yet, so also looking for advice here.
I haven't seen Dick in a couple of days. Gertrude was on her eggs this morning. I came home from work to find her nest abandoned with three eggs still in it (and two big goose poops on my patio 🙄). They're a little bit warm, but not super warm. I left at around 8am this morning and came back at about 3pm. I have no idea when she left in that time.
I'll, of course, leave them for now in case she comes back, but I'm guessing they're unviable/dead. Advice?
Edit: The rescue says she is likely to be back and reminded me that it's illegal to interfere with an active nest. So now just wondering when it's officially inactive... She nested on top of my peas and I'm eager to get more planted.
