What if the One Piece world itself is just the permanent aftermath of Devil Fruit powers from the Void Century?
Think about it.
Boa Hancock already confirmed that some Devil Fruit effects remain even after the user dies. She told Blackbeard that if he killed her, nobody could undo the petrification on his men. Meaning: Devil Fruits don’t just create temporary effects. Some of them permanently alter reality.
Punk Hazard is another example. Akainu and Aokiji fought once, and years later the island is STILL split between magma and ice. That means awakened or extremely powerful Devil Fruits can permanently terraform the world itself.
Now scale that up to the Void Century.
Whitebeard could destroy entire islands with earthquakes. Ryokugyu can create forests. Fujitora pulls meteors from space. We’ve seen islands in the sky, underwater civilizations, impossible climates, giant sea level rises, and now massive holes in the ocean after Uranus-like attacks.
What if NONE of this is natural?
What if the Red Line, Calm Belt, Grand Line, rising sea levels, and the chaos of the world are all scars left behind by Devil Fruit users and Ancient Weapons during the war 800 years ago?
And here’s the important part:
Law already showed us that overwhelming Haki can negate Devil Fruit abilities. He reversed Doc Q’s disease power through Haki alone. Joyboy’s stored Haki inside Emeth instantly broke the Gorosei summoning and sent them back.
That means Haki doesn’t just resist Devil Fruits.
It can OVERRIDE them.
So what if Joyboy’s true power was never “reality manipulation”…
but a Conqueror’s Haki so overwhelming that no Devil Fruit power could force its reality onto him?
Not because he had a special fruit.
But because his will simply rejected the effects.
“No. Your power does not decide reality.”
Maybe THAT is why Imu fears Joyboy.
Because Devil Fruits can reshape the world…
but overwhelming Conqueror’s Haki can return it to its true state.
And what if the Ancient Weapons aren’t even “machines”?
What if they are objects infused with Devil Fruit powers on a scale the modern world can’t even comprehend yet?
