I’m currently pregnant and scheduled to be induced next week. The father of my baby and I are not in contact due to a domestic violence situation that happened during my pregnancy. I have already made it clear to him that I am not comfortable with him being present at the birth.
I recently updated his mother about the induction and she responded saying she plans to bring him to the hospital. I feel very uncomfortable and unsafe with that idea, especially given our history and an ongoing legal situation.
I don’t mind her coming to meet the baby afterward, but I am struggling with how to set this boundary without causing conflict, especially since they would be traveling several hours.
I’m looking for advice from others who have been in similar situations how did you handle enforcing boundaries around who is allowed at the birth when others didn’t respect them?
