Hi so this is a throw away post because I don’t want the people to know I’ve posted about this.
Essentially, me and my group of friends attended a party recently that was being hosted by a close friend. We were all fairly drunk and having fun when another group showed up and just sat in the corner. No joke they didn’t speak to us at all.
After about 30 minutes, they all went outside with someone else’s drink and eventually we realised they’d all left. They didn’t tell anyone (including the host) that they were leaving and left all their drinks at the party.
Turns out they went to hang out in a park/field near by and met up with another group of people who weren’t invited originally.
After they’d been gone for about an hour, we all decided that it was clear they weren’t coming back so we shared out their drinks with everyone still there. Bear in mind that had taken the other persons bottle to the field with them.
So they come back near the end of the party and start asking where their drinks have gone and saying that whoever it was “robbed them”. They started an argument when we explained how disrespectful it was to just ditch a party and kept claiming that we had to pay them back. We did not.
My friends assumed it would all be fine the next day but it turns out they’d gone around calling us tramps and other names to people who weren’t even at this party.
Looking back I do understand why they were upset but also it seemed like fair retaliation for them just leaving, so am I the asshole?
