▲ 6 r/GRE

Looking for some honest feedback from people who’ve taken the GRE recently, especially on quant.
Timeline:
Jan attempt (low prep):
Basic quant + some RC
No sleep before exam
Score: 305 (152V, 153Q)
Restarted prep (April, ~2 weeks):
Revised quant fundamentals
Focused heavily on TC/SE (GregMAT)
Some RC + vocab
Mocks:
Manhattan Mock 1: 315 (157V, 158Q)
Manhattan Mock 2: 311 (154V, 157Q)
GregMAT timed quizzes and TC and SE hard level practise questions

Test Day (April 24):
~4 hours sleep (not ideal)
Verbal:
TC/SE: manageable
Vocab: easier than expected
RC: significantly harder than my Jan attempt
Quant (main issue):
Both sections felt consistently difficult
In my Jan attempt, a weak first section led to a very easy second section
This time, difficulty stayed high → I assumed I was performing decently

Actual Score: 300 (151V, 149Q)
This is what I’m struggling to understand:
Dropped from 153Q → 149Q, despite more prep
Was scoring 157–158Q in mocks
Difficulty level on test felt higher than mocks

Questions:
Has anyone recently felt that GRE quant is getting harder (as compared to GregMAT/Manhattan level)?
Is it possible I completely misjudged section difficulty and actually did poorly in section 1?
How common is a 10–15 point drop from Manhattan mocks?
For a retake (3–4 weeks), should I:
Focus on harder problem sets, or
Double down on accuracy + error reduction?

Right now I feel like my issue might be:
Accuracy under pressure
Fatigue/sleep
Or poor calibration of difficulty
But I’m not fully sure, and don’t want to repeat the same mistakes.
Would really appreciate insights, especially from anyone who’s improved their score after a similar drop.
Any strategy that i should follow in the coming weeks.

Thanks!
