Whats yalls opinions on Edie?

What do you think about Edie? I have mixed opinions. I agree that shes missunderstood and that they judged her unnecessarily in the beginning and only saw her as a hot dumb blonde, but at the same time she has no moral codes which we notice later on.

She went after Carlos after they got divorced which i find like a diss against Gabby and i think she first only went after Carlos to spite Gabby and later caught feelings. Would she had done that if he wasnt so good with her son?

And dont get me started on what she did to mike after his coma, its utterly unforgivable. I cant belive they just forgave her for it. She lied to him and then they 'got together', mike had no idea it was a lie, i dont think its okay. You just dont do that.

She gives me major 'me,me,me' vibes. She doesnt care about anyone else.

And when she came back five years later and expected an apology? Hell no. She was the terrible person and they had a reason to abandon her. Shes a bad person with some amount of kindness sometimes. She was always pretty rude too.

Gaby’s treatment of Carlos during his blindness was honestly hard to watch

I am on s4 right now and honestly the way Gaby treated Carlos when he was blind was straight up ableist.

She constantly made it about herself complained about how her life got harder, and barely showed any real empathy for what he was going through. Instead of supporting him, it felt like she was annoyed by his disability most of the time.

I get that Gaby’s character is meant to be self-centered, but this crossed into uncomfortable territory. Blindness isn’t just an inconvenience to the people around you, and the show kind of played it off that way.

Honestly why did Gaby become a mom?

Im on my first rewatch of Desperate Housewives and i cant help but wonder what went through the writers heads when they decided to make Gaby a mom? All she ever talked about when the subject of children came up was how she DID NOT wanna be a mother and by the way she is a mother, it was def a bad choice for her character. She doesnt seem to enjoy it but im only on like season 5-6 so maybe she grows into it?

But i just dont understand why they would make her have kids since all she ever said in the earlier seasons was that she didnt want em and all of a sudden, bam, she wants kids? Honestly it made Renee seem like a replacement for the "i dont want/need kids" mentality, which is crazy because she actually wanted kids later on

It just made me feel like they where trying to say that every housewive need/will have kids. You can be a housewive without a kid.

Do you think Dave genuinely loved Edie?

Obviously, marrying Edie was part of his plan to avenge his late wife and daughter.

But I wonder if he somehow developed romantic feelings for her during their marriage because he seemed very devastated by her death (even if he almost killed her 5 munutes prior).

Do you think he was genuinely mourning Edie or just his failed plan ?

Why did they remove benjamin?

I dont understand why they made such a big deal of bree having the baby if they were just going to take benjamin away from her. They made it such a big deal and part of her character in that season and then they just kinda...dumped it? Just didnt make any sense!

I can't with this show

Juanita finally wakes up and then she just dies.

Also is it bad that I don't hate Rex? I think he's funny and maybe he's started becoming better like sort of. I don't know but I don't hate him.

(I'm on s1 ep17)

why is susan so hated? first time watcher, on s6 now

when I first started watching, I liked her. I heard that she was really hated so I expected that she would get worse. but honestly, I just can't hate her? she does make stupid decisions and might act a little all over the place, but honestly all the characters in this show have bad flaws. I personally like her, even if she can be a bit fake and makes bad decisions sometimes. I wouldn't say she is my favorite, but she is entertaining and makes for good scenes. she can be kind, compassionate, funny, etc. but my opinion could be influenced by the fact that susan&mike is one of my favorite couples in the show. Is she really that bad? I just don't see it. I actually think that the main 4 are all pretty balanced. None of them are hate worthy for me, I've only really hated the husbands & edie sometimes.

Susan’s Age Annoys Me

Rewatching the show with my husband while going through fertility stuff (I’m 37 now), and I’m so annoyed/confused about Susan’s age.

She gets pregnant unexpectedly and everyone’s acting like it’s this huge risk because of “advanced maternal age”… okay, fair. But then after the 5-year time jump, she’s telling MJ she just got her first gray hair?? Like what??????

Wouldn’t she be around mid-40s at that point? The timeline just feels so off, and the way she acts makes it even more confusing.

I already find Susan wicked annoying, but this age inconsistency is really getting to me!

Does anyone know how old she’s actually supposed to be throughout the show?

And what about the rest of them? I always assumed Bree is the oldest and Gaby is the youngest, but now I’m second-guessing everything.

Thanks 😜

Does anyone else ever sometimes think “I’m way too poor to understand this” when watching or is it just me lmao

Gaby, first of all, just Gaby. Girl would just straight up pass away if the nicest purse she owned was a 75% off 3 seasons out of date Kate Spade (my “fancy” purse 🥲)

Susan loosing her mind over having to move into the apartment (which wasn’t even a BAD place). I get she didn’t want to lose her house because it was sentimental to her, but watching as someone who’s lived in rented basements and with 4 roommates… I was like “okay, girl. I guess.”

(This is not a Susan hate post, just an example. I’m entirely apathetic about Susan hahaha)

Chuck chuck bo buck

Am I the only one that thought he was a good match for bree? I thought they made way more sense than her and the attorney. He only became vindictive after she pulled the rug out from under him.

Its hard to think you're in a happy relationship and then get broken up with. I don't think it would've mattered if they stayed together. Bree had feelings of steel and never flinches. Unless Susan who was acting so crazy she had to tell Mike.

It’s official- I finished the show again

The last few minutes of the last episode made me cry. This show is so so so so good. I love how funny it is and how much drama and mystery it has. I love it so much. So I just did what I always do with my comfort shows- immediately started it over again. Anyone else?

Lynette telling Bree "you were trying to control us, the way you control everything"

In season 8, after Susan, Gaby and Lynette stopped talking to Bree, Lynette told her she was "trying to control us, the way you control everything". Isn’t it rich coming from a woman who wouldn’t let her husband decorate his office the way he wanted to?

Anyone else feeling bad for Orson in Seasons 5-6

I'm currently at S6 E8 and I want to skip the scenes where Bree trashes Orson so bad. My heart feels pierced when she rejects Orson's initiatives (that are really sweet btw). I know he's not the nicest man out there but dear God I want to pull Bree's hair. Her character arc decline was really bad here and it makes me hate her so much. No offense to Bree fans here but she's such a hypocritical, self-righteous, and selfish right now.

The brooch and Madame Butterfly scenes make me so hurt for Orson lol
