Tw suicide of course

Throwaway. I don’t know who to talk to.

Update: thanks everyone. I got this initial need to vent off my chest now. I will talk the advice into consideration and talk to people in my real life. This was a throwaway account and has served its purpose now so I will delete it. Have a good weekend everyone of you’re not working.

We found my coworker dead at work today. She had hung herself from rafters in our storage area. We are a small workplace and I went in there when I heard the commotion. Then left and someone else called an ambulance and the police.

Our storage is not accessed every day, and we both work in the office and customer spaces normally, and she hadn’t turned up for work yesterday. People tried to call her but gave up. I don’t know the timeline but I believe she was dead in there yesterday the whole day. She had laid out her ID, work phone and keys at her feet and put a note on her shirt with a safety pin saying she was sorry but she didn’t want to die at home and be found by family.

The thing is, I sort of knew but didn’t do anything. She was in this whole thing with our supervisor who wanted her to get fired for being “crazy” (he had yelled at her in front of a few of us telling she should resign) She had cried in the bathroom a few times. I knew she had financial problems and her hours had been cut. She had opened up on a smoke break that she needed money but she was getting less shifts than some other workers. At our holiday Christmas party she had said she knew everyone wanted her gone.

I hate her for having done this at work but I can’t blame her.

Thanks for reading.
