I really struggled all throughout school especially with reading and mathematics. I was never properly diagnosed other than having general learning disabilities but I’m pretty sure I have dyscalculia and possibly adhd. Any how due to struggling so much in school I went into the trades but quickly learned that trades require a lot of math and I struggled, as well as how dangerous they are as I fell off a ladder and sustain an injury. I went back to school after this only to find again I struggled greatly and had to pick a major that I could graduate with in a timely manner so I did social work. Yet the intensive case management work that comes with a BA level really burnt me out quick and I’m having a hard time seeing a path past low income.

I’m curious to see if anyone has some insight on good careers for people who have learning disabilities. I specifically have dyscalculia and possibly some memory issues going on. I have tried a wide range of jobs yet ether I enjoyed it and the pay not enough to live on or it was dangerous.
I have worked as:
Office tech
Lifeguard
House painter
Landscaper
Construction apprentice
Fast food
Retail
Social services case management

While I was alright at most of these jobs a few things continuously get in my way.
1 any math. I still struggle with basic calculations
2 pay
Danger, in construction and house painting I hurt myself many many ways and had some pretty rough experiences

Ok so I actually knew it wasn’t for me starting at the end of my second to last semester. I had reached the limit of my burn out phase doing case management in a low barrier shelter. Along with job searching and realizing that my choice to not pursue a masters was going to put me in a salary cap super quick with social service casework jobs. Any how I know that I don’t want to go that route and I’m struggling to know what to do
