To the Sam Harris/Anti-mamdani crowd, how realistic is the threat of an Islamic caliphate forming in NYC? So far he seems to be a normal mayor. When does the scary stuff happen?

Look fuck populism, slopulism, hasan, and other online lefty shit. These things all suck. This being said, the election is over and the Sam Harris and anti-Mamdani crowd are acting like NYC is going to hell and turning into an Islamic caliphate. Like the election is over, he won, all one can do now to determine antisemitism is assess his mayoral statements and actions as mayor. A lot of pro-Israeli Jewish New Yorkers are pleasantly surprised NOT because they like him but because it seems their fear was overblown. Like is Mamdani gonna usher in islamism? If so when? When do we get to the point where the Sam Harris crowd either concedes they were wrong or they shift to an actual political critique of mamdanis policy as mayor that is unrelated to religion or ethnic identity?

I wanna be clear fountain drinks are ONLY a victimless crime if it is under 750mls (25 fluid ounces) or less and only 1 over a 72 hour period. If you aren’t stealing fountain drinks, then you are stealing. It’s like 5-25¢ per cup for fountain drinks.

I think this is the one exception. Also soda is bad don’t do it but if you live in a state like Florida or Texas that said water breaks were bad and probably don’t have a law mandating free water during the summer then this is the ultimate victimless crime.

I am ok with welcoming ex-maga and former Trumpers BUT it has to be done in a measured and sensible way. If you support further eroding democracy or trying to entrench partisan advantage you are trash and no amount of “whoopsie daisie, uh oh spaghetti ohs” makes up for not making basic bitch changes to not further erode our system.

If he wants to be a “I don’t see racism and affirmative action is bad”, fine but don’t eliminate it in such a way to let republicans try to gerrymander before the next census, just wait until the next fucking census. Stop trying to cheat.

Hanania can be as anti-maga as he wants but he is a regarded partisan hack who cant be trusted.

I don’t need conservatives or anti-maga to torture themselves or whatever, just don’t be trying to do a heel turn or backstab people. Like if you want to keep your old politics, fine but don’t try to help the Republican shit you support because you are too partisan to recognize they are trying to fuck shit up.

For example Carr isn’t reviewing licenses earlier to stop DEI, he is doing it to censor. Hanania hasn’t spoken on the FCC review but I bet if he did he would say “ending DEI is patriotic and good” not realizing this is a smokescreen for censorship.
