I 27F work in a mid-size office and I bring lunch from home pretty much every day. There's a woman Lisa who sits two desks away, nice enough, we chat sometimes, not close friends but no issues.

About three months ago she forgot her fork and I lent her a plastic one from my bag. Fine, whatever. Then a week later she forgot her whole lunchbox and asked if she could use my spare tupperware container because she had soup. I said sure. And then it just, kept happening. Almost every week since then she either forgets a container, a lid, a bag, something, and my stuff becomes the solution.

The thing is I only bring exactly what I need. I'm not carrying backup kitchen supplies to work, I just happened to have extras a few times and now apparently I'm the office lending library for lunch equipment. Last week she forgot her container again and when I said I only had the one I was using she looked genuinely put out, like she was expecting me to figure it out for her.

I want to just stop offering entirely and if she asks say I don't have anything spare. Which is going to start being true pretty soon anyway because she's returned stuff with stains twice and I just threw those out. I don't want to make it weird at work because we do have to sit near each other every day, but I also didn't sign up to be her backup plan three months ago and I really didn't sign up for it to become a standing arrangement.

Would I be the asshole for just quietly stopping?
