Highly Contagious Stomach Virus Surging In VA As Vaccination Rates Decline

//Rates of rotavirus have been steadily increasing since January, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. In the CDC’s Northeast region, which includes Virginia, the percentage of positive tests spiked to 9.6 percent for the week of April 11, up from 3.23 percent the week before.

Data from the Wastewater Scan, a cooperative effort between Stanford University and Emory University, show that rotavirus rates are increasing the most in the Midwest and the West.

Data was collected in Virginia at the Acquia and Little Falls Run wastewater treatment facilities in Stafford.

What to know about Tuesday’s special election on Congressional redistricting

//After months of sometimes confusing commercials, mailers and political campaigning, Virginians will decide tomorrow (Tuesday) whether to allow an off-cycle redrawing of the state’s Congressional districts.

Voters will head to the polls to weigh in on a proposed constitutional amendment supporting a one-time, mid-decade redistricting process, one that would shift the current partisan balance for the House of Representatives to one where Democrats are favored in 10 of 11 districts...

Fairfax County under drought warning as Virginia faces its worst drought in nearly 20 years

Other Northern Virginia jurisdictions under the same advisory include Arlington, Loudoun and Prince William counties, along with the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park.

State and local officials are urging residents to cut back on water use, particularly outdoor watering, as conditions worsen. They also warn that dry conditions have increased the risk of fires, especially those caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.

Converting from .35/min plan to a monthly plan? (AT&T)

I have a spare line with a large existing balance that I've inherited.

Up until now, I've been paying the minimum $5/mo every 30 days to just maintain the line and balance.

For the longest time I've been considering switching to one of the monthly plans, just for the data and to use up the balance. Now I'm finally ready, I think.

The $65/mo Unlimited Ultra, with 30GB hotspot seems best for me vs the $45 Enhanced Plus with 10GB hotspot. I used to be able to switch back and forth between plans and I assume I still can? (When is best time to switch, just before or just after the balance expiration date?)

I know that I will still have to add $5/mo. to maintain the existing balance. But it should draw the $45/$65 per month from balance right? (My main goal.)

Just want to make sure since I can't switch back to the .35/min plan.

Anything I've missed or should consider?

Why some Virginia voters find redistricting ballot question confusing

// A Fairfax County election official told WTOP that they’ve been fielding calls from voters who, after casting a ballot, believe they voted incorrectly based on a new ad or flier they came across later.

Lucas Barton said he had already figured out how he wanted to vote before seeing the ads because he did research on the ballot item. And Margo Cunniffe said she was expecting people to “put twists on issues,” but was surprised by the quantity of mail she received about redistricting.

“I got at least five or six pieces, and then I got things via email as well,” Cunniffe said.
