I fear that this might come off as a bit controversial but I am genuinely asking in good faith, hoping that maybe the fragrance community might have the answer.
I have been in the fragrance space for years. Probably half a decade and I have experienced a vast range of perfumery. I started with the regular fragrances on every shelf, and then progressed to middle Eastern, and then designer, and then niche.
I have tried the 'beast mode' fragrances recommended on Fragrancetok or Fragrantica and even smelt some recommended in this community and I haven't gotten any "beast mode" fragrance. None.
I even got the all hail all mighty Followed by Kerosene and burst into tears because I have been on this beast mode fragrance journey for years and have been subsequently disappointed. For me, Followed was weak, but I was glad that I love the smell and all.
Even worse, I always wanted to smell like a sexy gourmand, but I end up getting fragrances with heavy oud and the likes because gourmand struggles to be beast mode.
I wonder if actual beast mode fragrances are just in my imagination. I feel sad, and I just wanted to share this with the fragrance community cause this is my home. And, I dont know, maybe im hoping to find someone who gets me, and understands what I mean.
Maybe im stuck just buying fragrances just because i enjoy the scent, not because it gives me that "beast mode" - 'everyone can smell you a train away' feel.
Thank you for listening to my rant. And if you know any ACTUAL beast modes, ill love to hear it, I guess. Hopefully, it ends up being beast mode to me.
