Finally got an offer!

After months where my career path seemed uncertain, I got a call a few hours after my 2nd interview. My last position where I was doing Software Development I was laid off in Feb with about 8 years of experience under my belt. I sent out a total of 51 applications between Feb-April, finally securing a position for a renewable contract for 130k as Software Developer for a bank.

I found I had the most luck in getting interviews from LinkedIn recruiters that reach out to you. It's just a numbers game at that point. You start seeing the same interview problems pop up for 3 months straight, you're bound to land on some combination of them through all the interview failures.

Also If you find you're going through endless rounds of interviews for permanent roles, why not instead try to get your foot through the door with easier interviews for shorter contract roles instead, and through showing your worth over the course of the contract, it would be easier to get into companies that way if you're not comfortable with some of the more technical interviews out there.

I hope this post is able to give people out there hope.
