Overall, I have to say I do like the set. It's my first time trying something other than Lego, and I had a lot of fun with it.

It wasn't perfect though. I have a few small complaints. Nothing deal breaking in my opinion.

Overall, I found the build to be flimsier than the Lego sets I've done before it, meaning I had to be very careful with it.

I was missing a piece, but because of the location, I was able to hide it and continue (part of the balcony). I'm not bothered ordering the replacement.

The roof decoration (twirly wooden thing?) Wouldn't attach properly. They just kept falling off. I wasn't actually fond of the design feature. It felt out of place, so I replaced it with spares that had come with the set, a leaf and flower that I feel look nicer.

One piece had been crushed when the bag was being sealed. I went to my bag of spare lego parts and found a piece to replace it. Again, I'm not bothered ordering a replacement.

One of the printed signs was printed at a slight angle. If it was Lego, I would have gotten a shitty sticker though and probably done a worse job myself.

As it's an earlier set, the connection point between the floors did have too much grip, so I used a small bit of super glue and job done. I am aware this has been fixed in newer sets and knew this going in.

Like I said, no deal breakers. I think it's a gorgeous set and a great addition to my town. I also can't comment on the customer service replacing parts as I didn't contact them. Considering its pricing compared to Lego, I think lumibricks are well on their way to becoming one of the best brick companies out there, and despite the few shortcomings, I still recommend the set.

My daughters school takes them to the library once a week for a new book. This week, my daughter wanted to sit and read the book to me. Awesome, I love to cuddle up with a story and watch her reading improve.

I hadn't really paid much attention to the title and it started like most kids books about two animal friends doing stuff together and having fun. Until one day the hare just wasn't there anymore. Me being totally oblivious, I just figured he was on holiday or something (yes, I'm an idiot). The tortoise is very sad and an older bear comes along to give him a hug and tells him that sometimes life can be very sad and sometimes friends die without the chance to say goodbye. Then she talks to him about filling the hole left behind with all their good memories.

The whole book was so well put, and the art was amazing at conveying the message. At the end my daughter could see I was a bit teary eyed and gave me a huge hug. I lost my dad 19 years ago when I was a teenager, so he never got to meet his grandkids. It's always hurt not having him there for those milestones. I sat down that night with my wife and just talked about him for a while and had a good cry. I didn't realise how much I needed it or how much I was missing him lately.

Highly recommend the book to anyone who's experienced loss, kids and adults alike. Sometimes we just need a good cry.
