New 6 hour rule on IOG
Apologies if this has been clarified already.
I typically plug my car in after work when it requires charging, tell octopus the amount to add and the time to be ready by. Set my in car limit to whatever is required.
I have checked my previous charges and it varies on amount of charge added and session time.
21kwh = 12 hours 9 minutes
44kwh = 9 hours 18 minutes
No real sense to it other than “we’ll give it juice when the grid is greenest”
In reality the app will also show the schedule and the overall time the car is being charged could be 3 hours 30 minutes.
With the new 6 hour rule am I going to be charged standard rate over the 6 hours simply because octopus has spread my charging session over a longer period and/or throttled the speed of my Hypervolt home 3 pro?
Is it amount of time the charger was delivering charge (4hours for example). Or the session time (12 hours 9 minutes)?
