How do I 24M go about talking about money with my girlfriend 22F without ruining things?
So, I've never had experiences with relationships until recently friends or girlfriend. Always been a "cave dweller" in my past until recently. We've been dating for 3 months so far. I'm working a job but still looking for an IT role while my gf is working seasonal and still relies on her "Allowance"?
I've always been taught that guys paying for everything is the normal. Plus being Chinese, that's the standard we fight for. So I've just been doing that.
Here's the issue. I've been doing that... Well... Now... It doesn't feel sustainable. I feel like I need to talk to her about stuff like this but how do I bring it up? I don't want to come across as stingy or even... Well... "Broke"? Even though we joke about the economy and being poor. How do people split stuff like this?
Because I've been happily paying for her stuff too but at the same time I'm starting to lose the joy of doing this gesture. How do I go about bringing this up? I'd sound... Well... Broke... Or is this my pride talking?
