When I started this journey I set my goal to 19 stone. I started the year a shade over 22 stone where I’d been for years. Today marks the four month anniversary since my first jab and I am 3 stone 2 pounds 7 ounces lighter and in the “18 stone something” weight for the first time since I can remember.

I’ve now set my goal to 18 stone and the journey continues. I’m currently on 7.5mg and have two pens left before I make the next step up. With the stockpile I have, by the time I get to using it all I should have smashed that target and some.

I’m saving the progress photos for when I get to my absolute target weight which I’m still trying to work out. According to BMI I need to be around 13 stone 7 pounds to get into the healthy range but I think that’s crazy amounts of weight for me to lose and I don’t even think I would look like me anymore 😬 In reality I’d be happy about being around 15 stone which given my height I think would look and feel good to me. For now, it’s onwards to 18 stone 💪🏻

Skip to the tldr if the backstory is too long/boring/irrelevant...

I'm a trustee of the local village hall and we have a decent-size solar install including batteries. I got a call from another trustee today to say the inverter was offline, he'd tried to reboot the router but nothing was working - "no problem" I thought "I've seen this before" and headed down.

We've had instances where the batteries have tripped their isolators so I checked and both fine but there was a weird clicking sound from the plant room extending around the building.

We traced the noise back to the incoming supply which was arcing - not sure if it was the solar isolator or the actual incoming supply (there is a sub-board in the enclosure marked solar PV but it wasn't clear where the noise was coming from.

The entire building was suffering from seemingly unconnected issues - some circuits not working, the heat pump complaining of a missing phase and a "dead"* broaband router.

On advice of the installer the solar inverter was shut down and we all went about our business...until this evening when I receive two calls from different people - one from another trustee to say the building was "erratic" and she'd been advised by a sparky to isolate the incoming (against our advice and the DNO's advice as it turns out) and one from the community broadband provider to say their cabinet was on backup power for some reason (yeah, we turned off the power to our building which cut their power 😄).

Now the tldr; on closer inspection of the inverter logs, there is a clear degradation in P3 in the last 18 hours. Phases 1 and 2 are perfectly stable/aligned but phase 3 (as seen by the inverter) is reading erratically, down to as low as 103v. This would correlate to us having isolated the solar kit and the building still having issues.

I'm currently awaiting ENWL attending but from all this waffle - does this sound like a supply issue? I think the fact two independent pieces of equipment are reporting P3 issues confirms but I'm intrigued where the issue is and whether it could still be due to our solar install or if there's a genuine failure of P3 coming into the property.

EDIT: just back from site with ENWL and long story short, it was their equipment at fault. All three sets of terminals in the fuse carriers were loose - especially L3 (the one I recognised as problematic). All torqued up and power now restored.

The password for the EVC is based upon an algorithm using the SSID which GivEnergy used to be able to do for customers. Given the hardware side is now defunct, there is a potential for customers soft-bricking their devices if they have damaged or lost the QR code.

I would like to gather a number of examples of the details from some chargers to see if it can be reverse engineered. I appreciate some might see this as sensitive data so perhaps sending them by email or DM'ing me on Facebook would be better.

From the sticker I need the three lines of text which include;

  • The serial number
  • The SSID (EVSE-XXX)
  • The AP password

If you're happy to share (as some already have) please DM me the details or a photo of the QR code.
