What is the general consensus on hermit crabs

Putting together a clean up crew for my 250l tank.
At the moment, I've only ordered a bunch of various snails.

What are peoples thoughts on hermit crabs these days?
When I had a reef tank about 20 years ago, a had an army of red legged hermit crabs, which at the time, were considered the most reef safe.

Are snails the way to go now, I should I be grabbing some crabs while I'm at it?

FPS Drop in Fullscreen Mode

Posting this for a friend who's having PC problems.

Here are the specs.
5700X3D
32gb RAM
9700XT

Monitor is 1440p, 180hz

Problem started when we started playing Dying Light 2, he was getting terrible FPS.
Switching from DX11 to DX12 seemed to have solved the problem.

But now he's having trouble in Plague Tale: Requiem, which he wasn't having before.
In fullscreen mode, the game is giving around 25 FPS, though the steam FPS counter is saying 150+.
If he switches to windowed mode, the problem is fixed and he gets the correct FPS.

He's tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphics drivers, but it's not made a difference.
Power draw is 300W will playing in fullscreen mode, so it looks like the GPU is engaged.

CPU/GPU temps are normal.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Little background.

I have 55l tank which is about 2 years old and a 250l tank which finished it's cycled about 2 weeks ago.

I moved over my fish stock on the 25th of April, which was a yellow clown goby, blue neon goby and a tailspot blenny.

Last saturday I purchased and added 2 new fish, a royal gramma and a purple firefish.

Everything seemed fine. Firefish was shy but out and about occassional. Always came out at feeding time and was eating. I didn't see any kind of bullying.

I come home today to see the firefish laying on the sand, blind in both eyes and damage to his head.

He was moving about but litterally in the space of 15 minutes while I was doing water test, he started floating around the tank and laying on his back.
I took the decision to euthanise him.

These are my water results.
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 50
Phosphate 0.02

What happened to my fish? I can't believe it went downhill so quickly. He was eating fine last night.

All the other fish seem fine.

I want to setup a small refugium in my sump. The area I have is only about 24x24cm, so quite small. I was hoping to gro cheatos.

Can anyone recommend a small light for the job?
