I have both reserve and platinum cards. Does a delta stay count towards delta travel (3x miles on platinum or reserve), direct hotel booking (3x miles on platinum but no bonus in reserve) or neither (no bonus).

Secondary question. I’ve always assumed third party (Expedia) hotel bookings do not give 3x platinum bonus as language says “directly with hotel”…

Complimentary Upgrades

I know that, in addition to becoming more and more rare, they are also more and more unpredictable. The algorithms are clearly much smarter than we are.

Has anyone lately been cleared for a complementary upgrade after check-in but before the gate? I am routinely number one on the upgrade list with up to five or six seats, empty and have a very excellent batting average of getting them, but at the gate.

These are all tickets I think I probably would have cleared if I booked before the five day window when they start clearing diamonds. But they have all been when I book without 2 days.

Are they for US or EU. I know they also have a usb port in the front by the screen but I like where the power port is.

I applied for ETA (in its early days) and was denied. It was within a year of a DUI and I now realize that’s an automatic no (or I obviously wouldn’t have done it).

I have successfully had tourist visas since.

I then applied for an ETA over a year from the DUI conviction and was told I provided false information. This is not the case. It has happened twice now.

My best guess is the system is just over a year old and flagged the different answers.

My biggest issue is that there is no one I can speak with. The ETA chat (only available contact) tells me to call the Visa office and the Visa office says to contact ETA chat.

While I’d rather not apply for visas and pay the fees I am kind of more upset that the UK government thinks I am a liar (I am not)

Also PLEASE no comments on the DUI. I know. It was a huge wake up call. Lesson learned and I have NO issues the arrest and conviction. I have not driven with even one sip since more will I.
