What's your favourite bird?
It doesn't have to be native to the UK. Big or small, colourful or dull, doesn't matter.
I'm just curious what answers people will give.
For me its the Robin and wood pigeon. I love robins because they were one of the first birds I really recognized and was introduced to and they remind me of Christmas and snowy winter days. Even now I love seeing a little robin in my garden and they are only bird I've had sit beside me for hours when I was fishing, either accepting my hand outs of bait or just helping themselves whilst being 2ft away from me.
I like Wood pigeons because they're another common garden bird which I've always seen and recognised, even as a kid and have heard their unmistakeable call since I was a nipper. I also like their non-chalant attitude in a dangerous world. I think they're smarter than what we credit them for but to see how they act is sometimes comical and I wonder if they maybe need to put a couple more points in self-preservation!
