Securing my personal Linux Mint install
I am running Linux Mint on my personal machine and would like to understand options and best practices around securing the install.
While I'm new to Linux, I am reasonably technically competent, having worked in IT for many years, so I'm not about to click any dangerous links or get phished. I am comfortable in the terminal and following technical documentation etc.
My main security concern is around crypto; I store a password-protected wallet on the machine, with keys stored in a hardware device. I'm not overly concerned about the wallet itself being compromised, but in the risk of malware or similar when I connect my hardware wallet for signing. I am able to keep the device air-gapped and will when possible.
I also store important but non-sensitive personal data such as photos and files, but nothing too serious.
I would appreciate advice on securing my install, also whether the distro I've chosen is a major factor. Thanks.
