Let me preface by saying my boyfriend and I have been together for two years now and we're completely in love. I couldn't ask for a better partner. He's kind, considerate, we never really fight because we always communicate so well, he gets me like no one else does and gets me the most thoughtful gifts too, I also love his sense of humor and we just love being in each other's company. I only have positive things to say and have never felt so secure or so loved in a relationship.

We've been very open with each other about our pasts. My boyfriend had a bit of a rough start in life and it took him longer to get established. There was a time he ran with a rough crowd, did drugs, dropped out of high school, etc. He's since put himself through college, stopped drugs, and now has a stable career (years before he met me). As far as romantic history, he had four serious relationships before me and his longest one was a fiance he was with for seven years. All of that I accepted and I was cool with. But here's where it gets sketchy for me.

I found out that when he met his fiance, she was 16 and he was 22, and I immediately recoiled when he revealed that. Apparently the age of consent in the state he lived in at the time is 16 so technically the relationship wasn't illegal, but it still skeeved me out, and now it's all I can think about. All of his other relationships were closer to his age and he said he never sought out someone so young but apparently they were coworkers at the time (both working in a fast food place) and it just kind of happened.

Now I'm unsure how to proceed because on one hand, the past is the past, and my boyfriend and I are very much in love and he's been absolutely wonderful in every way otherwise. But on the other hand, this revelation has given me pause and I can't help but feeling a bit of the "ick." Could really use some advice.

TL;DR my boyfriend met his ex fiance when she was 16 and it creeps me out to think about.
