I am making a story about a type 4 character and I am planning to do something I am not sure whether it is something common and works for a type 4 story so... Hear me out.
Basically, the story is about a guy, who works in the military, and his past is like... All of his family had died in an accident. The only person he had left was his uncle and he died too, and it was partially his fault, so... Yeah. (All these off screen)
And basically the story is about him, being engraved into his problems, thinking that that's how the way things are, that he can't get truly happy nor open up to anyone, because that might actually make him happy, and as a type 4, he doesn't want that. His grief is part of his identity. And he feels like that's what fuels him to be in the military and fight well.
Obviously, the story is gonna be about him, actually making a brotherly friendship, having actually something to fight for, defeating the villain, etc etc. But that's not the point.
At some point in the story, he discovers, that the Identity he built himself around, might be false. Slightly. Because while his family is dead, it wasn't actually an accident. The villain killed them. They weren't his target, but, they did die in the process, on purpose, by the villain. Along with others.
So my question is, how would a type 4 respond to that, and how this might help him to get "better" and evolve as a character. Or if I should change some things a bit. I don't know... Help me.
