Hey, I recently rewatched some parts of the series and I have a few questions. If you have the answers, feel free to share them lol
In season 2, Owens is sent to replace Brenner to explore the Upside Down and try to contain it to avoid the same mistakes Brenner made in season 1. So why doesn't he notice that tunnels are literally being dug at his feet? The tunnels start at the base of the portal in the lab. Why doesn't he see the vines growing? Why doesn't he react and burn the vines that are building? Is his goal to prevent any possible overflow of the Upside Down into Hawkins to avoid the same mistakes Brenner made?
Why does Joyce say to Will in episode 2 of season 5, "But we cut the connection"? While in season 3 Will can sense the particles and the mindflayer when they are close, and at the end of season 4 he senses Vecna's particles again in the Upside Down, why is she saying this? They must have talked about it; it was already a clue that he still had a connection to the hive. She seems surprised; even Steve tells Nancy that Will hasn't tickled the back of his neck in a while.
What justification is there in season 1 for what happened at the school with all the deaths caused by Eleven? Because it seems the fire department and the police were involved, not just the government. What did they tell Mike's mother and the public to justify these deaths, since the police had to investigate and aren't affiliated with government experiments?
Question about particles and burning: Why does Will have his particles removed in season 2 because he's overheating, and why does Steve burn vines? But why, when Murray burns Demogorgons in season 4, don't the particles leave their bodies because of the heat? And why, in season 5, when the Demogorgons are burned in the DD-Zone? Also, since they're all connected, if one is burned, everyone should feel it. So, if a Demogorgon burns all the particles from all the monsters, they should be expelled, and Vecna and the Mind Flayer would be left without a hive. I don't understand how it works.
How did Eleven escape in season 1, and how did she recognize Will in season 1?
In this scene, the demongorgon flees back to the Upside Down, but I wonder why it's fleeing since it's supposed to be controlled by Vecna, who gave it the mission to retrieve Derek.
We know that Will unconsciously managed to order the demongorgon to back down and not attack his mother, and that he was also the one who ordered the demongorgon to leave? Or did Vecna tell him to abandon the mission and come back, saying he would take them the following evening? Perhaps Vecna saw that Will had managed to control it and didn't want to take the risk, but that doesn't sound like the character who isn't afraid of Will and who despises him. Especially since if Vecna had seen Will controlling it, he could have regained control and redirected the demongorgon, given that Vecna is significantly more powerful individually than Will.
So the question is, why does the Demogorgon leave?
And I just thought of a second question: Vecna, in the same episode, says to Will, "You see, kids." This means he knows when Will connects to the hive and that he might be spying. So why didn't he predict that Will would tell the others he was going to attack Derek so he could prepare himself more?
